About this project/idea

The genesis...

...   that is, the series of facts and causes that lead to this project on a day-to-day basis, begins at the very beginning of the introduction of computer systems on the retail floor. We are talking about several decades ago.

At the heart of it all is my experience as a manager dealing with the resistance of my professional teams to the use of computer systems.

In retrospect, I have held several different jobs and too often, in my opinion, this resistance was and still is present. It was therefore my responsibility and obligation to find ways to make these systems accepted by the users concerned.

In fact, at the end of the day, the sales professionals were

To live an intellectual (reasoning-memory), emotional, visual and physical stress caused by the pressure coming from both their job and the obligation to adapt to these tools.

Normally, logic would dictate that it is up to the designer to make sure that what he or she invents is capable of facilitating the working day of a professional. So, in trying to find ways to do this for them, I was obliged to analyze in detail these tools, especially their interfaces and their impact.

...First of all, the items included are said to be "free" and my personal creations are under the GPL license. It's up to you to have fun with it, as it was for me and the hundreds of hours of thinking, designing and trying to reach my goals.


This project is in three steps.

1. First, it is about a theme of icons (embedded/modified/created) .

2. Second, are the modifications to the GTK/Metacity theme. These are strictly for

    the Mate desktop environment. (Tried on Mint, Mx and Manjaro)

3. Modification and/or design of wallpapers appropriate to the project goals.


Everything is guided by global objectives, these being very precise and constraining, hence the obligation to live with them, testing them for some time, that is, each icon, each change and each wallpaper.
